Photography – Lighthouse Point Park, Ponce Inlet, FL

It was an absolutely gorgeous day out at the beach on Ponce Inlet.  The funny part is, I wasn’t even planning to go there. I was on my way to New Smyrna Beach when I looked over the tree line and saw a lighthouse in the distance. I had never been in the area before so I didn’t even know it was over there. I ended up visiting the Lighthouse Point Park at the end of the Ponce Inlet. The temperature was in the low 80’s and and there was a light breeze coming off the ocean. Anyone who knows anything about me could tell you that I am not a fan of the hot heat in Florida.

Being from Michigan, this time of year I’m really missing the fall weather and beautiful color changing trees.

So, what could be more fitting than grabbing a Pumpkin Spice Latte and going to see the lighthouse? I was pleasantly surprised by how well kept up the park was, as well as the lighthouse. It looked like it was just built recently. Vibrant red and full of character.

To get to the beach there were winding boardwalk paths surrounded by lush greenery. To not disturb the plants they even built the boardwalk around a palm tree! The path was surprisingly long as it curved back and forth through the bushes and trees.

The beach was beautiful and not many people were around – one of the perks of going in the middle of the day during the school year. No tourists! You know who did occupy the beach though? Birds! Lots of birds! There were hundreds of seagulls, a couple pelicans, and couple of white cranes.

All-in-all it was a great trip out and I can’t wait to go back! Here are some more pictures.
